Zen Radar

"Last.fm feeds on crack. All the enhancements you ever wanted."
-Last.fm

Zen Radar is a free, subscriber-only meta-service that adds album art links to common last.fm feeds.

If an album isn't set for a track in the feed last.fm provides, Zen Radar will attempt to find the album using other last.fm feeds.

Subscribed users have the ability to change album info, so their custom album data will be reflected in their feeds whenever tracks from that album are scrobbled.

Automat

Automat started as a complex solution to a simple problem. A co-worker had a habit of leaving his halogen lamp on when he left work, only to remember once he got home. Jeff and I devised a scheme where it was possible to turn the light on and off remotely over the web.

Automat uses Flipit to control X10 devices. Device status is stored in a MySQL database and control messages are routed using some simple PHP scripts.

The project is pretty much a proof of concept at this point. Code coming soon.

Experiments with reacTIVision

reacTIVision is the visual tracking engine used in the reacTable project currently being developed by the Music Technology Group at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.

The recently released version 1.3 of reacTIVision features MIDI output. This allows control of applications like Ableton Live that don't speak OSC. The flexibility of reacTIVision allows for complex controller mapping that isn't possible with traditional controllers.

Currently I'm working on some complex mixing setups in Live, and I've written a patch for the MIDI server that allows configuralble controller topologies.

Carbon

Carbon is a basic PHP ORM (Object to Realtional Mapping) toolkit that allows developers to build complex applications without writing a single line of SQL. In addition to ORM, the Carbon toolkit includes helpful tools for dealing with common tasks like validation, result set paging, HTTP Request encapsulation, and more.

Carbon currently uses the Zend Framework for data access and class loading. This should allow Carbon to be used with any RDBMS that Zend_Db supports, however I have only used it with MySQL

The project is in the Alpha stage, and too volatile for release at this point. It will eventually be released under the LGPL license.
