Doughboy

I was just sitting there in the studio one night, minding my own business, and this groove just came out of nowhere.

This track was on included on the first HC KSS Compilation CD

Future-Retro 777, Prophet 600, Virus C, Guitar & Wah, Sampled drums (triggered in Loopazoid), Sly & The Family Stone acapella (Dance To The Music), Miller Highlife

Creeper

This track was an experiment in texture and minimal arrangement.

Juno 106, Virus C, EMU XL-1, Guitar & Wah, Waldorf Attack VST

Messenger

I'm still not sure if I like this one. It has parts I like, but I'm not sure about the total package.

Future-Retro 777, Virus C, Sampled drums (triggered in Loopazoid), Ubiquitous NASA sample

Memory Fragmentation

I don't know what you'd call this.

This is a short track for the first HC KSS monthly mission. I like it a lot. The two minute time limit forces you to be deliberate with your arrangement, so there's a kind of spartan feel to it. The vocal samples are from a speech by John Trudell, a Native American poet and activist.

Juno 106, Prophet 600, Virus C, EMU XL-1, Sampled drums (triggered in Loopazoid)

Chickenbone

This track began as a joke, but I ended up liking it a lot.

Prophet 600, Juno 106, Virus C, Sampled drums (triggered in Loopazoid), Sampled horns, Sampled vocals

Ulan

This is a short track I wrote as a concept for background music for a Flash based website. It didn't end up on the site, so it's here instead. I like it. The sound quality isn't that great - this was the last track I recorded in realtime through my old SBLive. Recognize the drum sounds?

Virus C, Sampled drums

Eclipse

This is the last trance track I finished. It's pretty dense, and I like the overall sound, but it could have been 3 or 4 minutes shorter.

Virus C, EMU XL-1

Explorer

This is an old track, made with only an EMU XL-1. The recording quality is pants, but I like this one a lot. You can hear my love for early Eve and Telica releases in this one. The vibe changes back and forth between major and minor, giving it some dynamic emotional tension and release. Or something.
